Haunted Lanterns
There is no greater Halloween classic , in my book, than the 1929 Short Film Mickey’s Haunted House. Seriously, it is the epitome of a spooky Halloween vibe. I wanted to bring that vibe home so I recreated a few elements, with a Pink Jasmin twist.
I used store bought bats and spray painted/posed some Dollar Tree skeletons to highlight those memorable moments in the film. However my absolute favorite moment is mickey with the lit match and I wanted him to be the centerpiece.
To create Mickey I took a screenshot of the film and uploaded it to Procreate. I traced him out and deleted the screenshot to get a clear Mickey outline. I sent this to my Silhouette and cut it out on Vinyl. I then remembered that I have transparency paper and I did the same on Procreate with my skeleton scene and Grim Reaper scene, however, I just printed those out on transparency paper. You then cut to size and add them to your lantern (Or anything clear really) and that’s it!
Note: if you want the frosted effect but your lantern or jar isn’t frosted, you can use wax paper and it will give you that frosted look!
