It’s friggin bats!!
Y’all know I love a quick and easy DIY. I used pre made bow scrunchies from the Target dollar spot as well as some felt and a little iron on vinyl to create these cute batty Mickeys!
All I did was cut out the Mickey shape out of felt. The little Mickey features are cut out on my Silhouette on iron on vinyl but that’s for extra cuteness. The bat scrunchies can totally be done without that step! Once your Mickey is cut out, I simply hot glued it to the center of the bow on my scrunchies!

I know you come to me for the easy DIY’s, however this one is a not SUPER easy one. It’s easy but not SUPER EASY. If you’re a Disney fan like me, I know you’re missing the parks EPIC Halloween celebration this year. Since none of us will get to experience that, I figured I’ve got to bring all of the magic home.
For this project you’ll need
Start by matching all of your wooden “heads” to their “ears” so that you know how many you’ll be able to make. If you have balls instead of beads, you’ll want to drill holes for the yarn. I put my balls on a vice and drilled holes big enough to fit a few strands of yarn.
Next you’ll want to glue your “ears” to your “heads”. I chose to glue them with hot glue because it dries fast. E6000 took too long to dry and my ears kept sliding down.
Once you’ve glued everything together, you’re ready to paint! I painted mine on a toothpick on the vice because I did this on my couch in my living room and didn’t want to get paint all over my hands. Two coats of paint should be enough for good coverage.
While your Mickey heads dry, you can create your tassels. Grab a piece of cardboard and cut to the length you’d like your tassels to be. I chose 4.5″ as my length. Remember that you can always cut them shorter once you’ve made them but you can’t add length, so I’d suggest going longer if you’re not sure of the length. To begin start by wrapping your yarn around the cardboard. I wrapped mine about 50 times. Once you’ve wrapped, cut a long piece of yarn, fold it in half and slide under and through the yarn on the cardboard and double knot VERY TIGHTLY at the top. Double knotting is very important to avoid breakage. Slide your scissors to the bottom of your tassel and cut across. At this point you can trim your tassel to create an even edge.
If your paint is dry you can slide the yarn through the balls. TIP*- Add a piece of tape to the end of the yarn to slide it through your beads easier. You could also have a big needle if you have one.
At this point you could leave your gorgeous tassels as they are or you could add a face.
Hang them where you’d like, I chose a black and white beaded garland, and ENJOY your not so spooky decor!
