This one’s for my husband, because he’s been wanting to make these for MONTHS! They were actually pretty easy to make even though it looks a little intense. What took the longest was gathering and measuring all of the ingredients….and my photos. WOOPS! Haha! This …
My little one LOVES to help me bake cookies…well, at least she starts off telling me she does. She looses interest pretty quickly. Well, ever since I made her these pretend gingerbread cookies, she’s been having way more fun “cooking”. She bakes them in her …
I love making air dry ornaments every year with my little babe. I really like this recipe because it makes a beautiful true white clay.
Ingredients-
1 cup of Baking Soda·
¼ cup of Corn Starch·
¾ cup of water
You’re basically going to dump everything into a pan and heat it up until it becomes a thick paste.
After you have your paste, roll the clay between two pieces of parchment dusted in corn starch, and cut out your shapes. Dust with corn starch as necessary to prevent sticking.
Bake at 170F for 2 hours, and that’s it!
I found this copper wire at the craft store and just wrapped it around a mickey every few inches to make a garland. After that I wrapped that and some fairy lights into a tiny tree. I love how understated and subtle the Mickeys are. Almost like hidden Mickeys.
I absolutely love the ease and versatility of a wooden bead Mickey and some yarn. I’ve had this Gingerbread idea in my mind for a while, and I am so happy it’s finally the holiday season so that I can share how cute they came …
Disneyland Tuesdays were our thing. My little baby and I would get up early, pack some snacks and make it out to rope drop. Main Street USA is as far as you can go until they drop the rope and let you flood into the …
I know you come to me for the easy DIY’s, however this one is a not SUPER easy one. It’s easy but not SUPER EASY. If you’re a Disney fan like me, I know you’re missing the parks EPIC Halloween celebration this year. Since none of us will get to experience that, I figured I’ve got to bring all of the magic home.
For this project you’ll need
Wooden balls or beads in two sizes (head and ears). If you chose the balls you’ll have to drill a hole through the ball for the yarn.
Yarn in colors of your choice
Matching acrylic paint
Black paint for the facial features OR vinyl cut outs
Hot glue/gun
Start by matching all of your wooden “heads” to their “ears” so that you know how many you’ll be able to make. If you have balls instead of beads, you’ll want to drill holes for the yarn. I put my balls on a vice and drilled holes big enough to fit a few strands of yarn.
Next you’ll want to glue your “ears” to your “heads”. I chose to glue them with hot glue because it dries fast. E6000 took too long to dry and my ears kept sliding down.
Once you’ve glued everything together, you’re ready to paint! I painted mine on a toothpick on the vice because I did this on my couch in my living room and didn’t want to get paint all over my hands. Two coats of paint should be enough for good coverage.
While your Mickey heads dry, you can create your tassels. Grab a piece of cardboard and cut to the length you’d like your tassels to be. I chose 4.5″ as my length. Remember that you can always cut them shorter once you’ve made them but you can’t add length, so I’d suggest going longer if you’re not sure of the length. To begin start by wrapping your yarn around the cardboard. I wrapped mine about 50 times. Once you’ve wrapped, cut a long piece of yarn, fold it in half and slide under and through the yarn on the cardboard and double knot VERY TIGHTLY at the top. Double knotting is very important to avoid breakage. Slide your scissors to the bottom of your tassel and cut across. At this point you can trim your tassel to create an even edge.
If your paint is dry you can slide the yarn through the balls. TIP*- Add a piece of tape to the end of the yarn to slide it through your beads easier. You could also have a big needle if you have one.
At this point you could leave your gorgeous tassels as they are or you could add a face.
Hang them where you’d like, I chose a black and white beaded garland, and ENJOY your not so spooky decor!
Are you ready for another easy peasy DIY from me? This is another embarrassingly easy DIY. I found this giant pumpkin at Target last year. (I have no doubt it will be back again this year) It’s plastic and it’s basically the same as those …
Welcome to my tropical hideaway, you lucky people you! my daughter absolutely loves the Enchanted Tiki Room, so when it came time for her birthday I knew I wanted to somehow incorporate it. She chose a Lilo and Stitch theme, so basically a perfect bridge …
These frozen bites are such an easy peasy, refreshing summer treat. It’s one of our favorite ways to cool off during the summer. When I was a kid, I would take the entire yogurt cup, stick a spoon through the foil and stick in in the freezer for a yogurt pop. This is basically the same concept but in fun shapes and colors, and also in small bites to make it little kid friendly.
The small bites remind me of those frozen dots they sell at amusement parks. I’ve actually never tasted those but that’s what these remind me of.
To make:
Divide yogurt into containers
Add food dye/coloring and mix each color separately
Add each color into a ziplock bag, squeeze any air out and zip closed
cut a small corner of the ziplock baggie off and begin filling your molds *
Freeze for a few hours or preferably overnight.
*If you’re not using molds, simply line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and squeeze rows of dots. They’ll easily slide off after freezing.
These are so easy I almost feel guilty putting it down on a blog post. I hope you enjoy this easy healthy summer snack as much as we do!
Popsicles and summer, name a better duo. Ha! This is an easy peasy recipe for a basic lemonade popsicle with a twist. If you wanna get fancy or artsy with it you can add lemon slices and chamomile flowers to your pops but it’s totally …
