Decorating Mickey Bars is one of my favorite ways to create a special treat without having to bake or make a big amount of anything. Let’s be honest, I don’t have anyone to give 11 cupcakes to or to share a big cake with. It’s just my little babe and mom & dad. Giving a pre-made treat a little glow-up just makes sense. Also, you know kids love to eat the same thing over and over again, so they’re happy with it!
Ingredients
Mickey Bars or any bars if you don’t want them Disney themed.
Melting chocolate or candy melts in white and if you wanna get fancy you can do regular chocolate color for the black and it will take much less dye.
Food colors
Vegetable shortening
Royal Icing
My tips for decorating Mickey Bars-
Work quickly because the chocolate hardens almost instantly. Melted chocolate + frozen bar.
Depending on your food coloring your chocolate might get thick and chunky. If that happens, you can easily thin it out by adding some vegetable shortening. I like to thin out my chocolate regardless for a smoother look. However, don’t thin it out too much or it won’t harden.
If you overheat your chocolate and it gets chunky, you can use the vegetable shortening trick again.
Try to make your hard 3D decorations before hand and then use your frosting or chocolate to “glue” them on to the bar. This way the decorations won’t harden on you as you work. Sometimes they just fall off because the Mickey bar cools down the chocolate too fast and doesn’t give it a chance to stick.
Use a photo for Reference or print out a picture of your design and put it under wax paper as a template to pipe your decorations.

Y’all know I love a quick and easy DIY. I used pre made bow scrunchies from the Target dollar spot as well as some felt and a little iron on vinyl to create these cute batty Mickeys!
All I did was cut out the Mickey shape out of felt. The little Mickey features are cut out on my Silhouette on iron on vinyl but that’s for extra cuteness. The bat scrunchies can totally be done without that step! Once your Mickey is cut out, I simply hot glued it to the center of the bow on my scrunchies!
Here’s a template for my Mickey that you can download for this project!

Valentines season is here and I am ALL about this holiday! In Mexico they call it the day of love and friendship, and I really love that. I’m getting into the Vday mood with this super fun and easy craft!
Have a ton of Amazon boxes laying around? PERFECT!
Materials:
-Rectangular box
-Pink Paint (I used spray paint)
-Red Vinyl
For the hearts:
-Paper mâché hearts from the craft store
-Paint
-Red vinyl
To begin, I do have to give credit where credit is due. I was inspired to do this craft by a post on The Sprinkle Factory blog.
This was a super easy craft with a big visual payoff. Start by tracing out a Mickey on your box. I used a bowl and a plate to make this template. Nothing fancy. Very carefully, cut it out with an craft blade
Next, you want to prep your box for painting by cutting away any of the raw tape edges to make sure everything is nice and neat.
You could paint your box with craft paint or spray paint. I used spray because it’s what I had laying around and I was feeling lazy. It took about 4-5 layers to get it to full coverage and no drips.
I used the mickey cut out as a template to cut a slightly larger mickey to use as the red outline on the box. And, a template from the Silhouette website for the “Sweet” cutout.
For the hearts, I just purchased paper mâché hearts at Hobby Lobby, Painted them, and cut out phrases on red vinyl using my silhouette machine to add once the hearts dried.
