Haunted Lanterns

Haunted Lanterns

There is no greater Halloween classic , in my book, than the 1929 Short Film Mickey’s Haunted House. Seriously, it is the epitome of a spooky Halloween vibe. I wanted to bring that vibe home so I recreated a few elements, with a Pink Jasmin

Spooky Mickey Lantern

Spooky Mickey Lantern

One of my favorite halloween Disney sights is the giant Mickey balloon bouquets! Since I can’t be at the parks, I decided to bring a bit of that nostalgia home. To make these lanterns you’ll need:

  • Spooky template (print and cut out or cut out onto black vinyl on a cutting machine)
  • Wax Paper
  • Big glass jar or lantern
  • clear tape
  • Battery operated candle

Cut out your spooky Mickey template to size, and secure it to wax paper. Roll it up with vinyl or printed paper facing the inside of the container, so that you can fit it inside of your container, and unroll it to fit snugly around the inside of your container. I just taped it into place using clear tape once it was in the spot I wanted it. Once the sun goes down turn on your battery operated candle for a magical spooky Mickey treat.

Our stay at Grand Californian

Our stay at Grand Californian

We’ve always dreamt about staying at Disney’s Grand Californian and we were finally able to make that wish come true. After about a year and a half of being cooped up at home, we returned to the parks and decided to go all out. From

The best DIY’s all seem to start at the Dollar Tree for me. I’ve seen this wreath base at the dollar tree for a few years now and I finally brought it home with me. I love the shape of it and I didn’t want

DIY Heart Stirrers & Straw Toppers

DIY Heart Stirrers & Straw Toppers

I love to go a little extra with the details on holidays and these toppers and drink stirrers are so easy to make. You can make em with the kiddos or just whip some up to make any drink extra cute! You could also make em Mickey shaped (My favorite!) to add a little Disney Magic!

Materials

  • Craft paper in the color of your choice
  • Skewers and/or Straws (Eco friendly…Paper or reusable)
  • Glue of your choice, I did hot glue.
  • OPTIONAL- Letter Beads

Directions

  1. Cut half inch strips of 8.5″x11″ craft paper, length wise.
  2. Fold strip in half and then glue together the ends, outsides in.
  3. Chose how you want your shape to sit on the straw or skewer and mark the paper with a pencil to create the opening for the skewer or straw.
  4. I used a tiny hole punch to start my opening, then made the hole bigger using my skewer as a guide.
  5. Once your Shape is in place, you can add a dot of glue to secure it.
  6. OPTIONAL- I have so many letter beads due to the endless crafts I’ve tried during the pandemic. I glued some beads to the skewer or straw inside the shape to create an extra level of EXTRA.
Faux Gingerbread Castle

Faux Gingerbread Castle

Only a few days till Christmas and how many of us are piling up the shipping boxes? Also, how many of us actually eat those gingerbread houses we make? I can honestly say I’ve never ever eaten a single gingerbread house. We make them but
